Beryl developed based on AIGLX and run on xorg7.1 .fortunatly some of todays distribution shipped with xorg7.1 including Debian –Etch.it provide nice and cool effects including amazing 3d-desktop,water effect,corner,motion blur, zoom window ...etc. Beryl introduces wonderful desktop experience to Linux users with zero cost.

Requirements for Beryl

• Debian testing or unstable distribution
• Should have Xorg 7.1
• libxcomposite1 package
• Video card support under AIGLX ( ATI or Intel ) or NVIDIA Card with 9xxx drivers .following are much suitable
  
  ATI radeon r2xx,r3xx free driver.
  Intel i810 driver should.
  NVIDIA driver.

To activate this effect Drag the desktopp with ALT + CTRL (One of my favorite Beryl effect 3D – cube , but I couldn’t cath my own screenshot , this is from Beryl tutorial )
